World Records

Southern hospitality was at its highest at the 2016 World Tournament held in Montgomery, Alabama. 934 pitchers traveled many miles by air or car to compete for NHPA Class and World Titles. Missouri led with 79 pitchers, Ohio followed up with 63 and Alabama with 48. Missouri also claimed the most 1st, 2nd, 3rd place titles with 16. Ohio came in second with 15, Oklahoma ended up with 13, and Alabama finished with 11 titles. The 2016 World Prelims had 63 Classes along with 8 World Championship finals.
The 2016 NHPA Hall of Fame and Awards banquet was a super affair. This year the NHPA Council approved a new NHPA patch to be awarded to those that have pitched in World Tournaments in consecutive years: 10 through 60. This patch was awarded to Mark Seibold, Indiana NHPA Hall of Famer for pitching in 53 consecutive tournaments and Earl Winston (now deceased) also NHPA Hall of Famer for his 50 In-A-Row tournaments. Try and match that!
Other Awards:
· 90% patches where awarded to JD Drake, MI (94.44%) and Shalee Cason, FL (90.63%) for pitching in the 2015 World Tournament Championship finals.
· Two Perfect Game patches where awarded to Cindy Hoffman, PA (20 out 20-100%) and Larry Myers, GA also (20 out 20-100%) 2016 calendar year.
This year the World Tournament Championship Finals produced seven 90% games.
